I'm not suggesting anything as dark as limo tint. I have 35 and 50 tint on
my car. I'd prefer it a bit darker, but that's as much as our local law
allows. I just threw the idea of tinting out there, because I don't think
anything else can make such a big impact on a stock car, for so little
money.

Rob

------------------

"Damon Scott Hynes" wrote ...

- Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -
> Dunno.

> apart from others. Have you also considered window tinting?

Dunno.
My Focus is Gold - a colour not offered since the first couple of model
years. I see others in the same colour, but there are way more Foci in grey
or blue, etc. It's nice to have something different about your car to set it
apart from others. Have you also considered window tinting? As a fellow
prairie dweller, I can tell you that's one very useful aftermarket upgrade.

Rob

--------------------------------

"Damon Scott Hynes" wrote ...

- Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -
> Thanx...about the color, I was talking with a salesman at a dealer in
Omaha
> who said that no one was sure whether it was a green, blue, aqua turquoise
> or what, so there wasn't as much demand as for the other colors. (The original instrument cluster doesn't have a tachometer.) I
> > replaced it and everything works, except the odometer miles don't match
up
> > (obviously). Can I get a Ford dealer to reprogram the odometer to the
> > correct value? Is that even possible?

> Just completed the same procedure. My dealer said there is no way. They
are
> not able - it's electronic and only the cluster manufacturer can change
it,
> and apparently they will not do that to a used cluster, only a new one. On
> the advice of my dealer I just registered the new mileage with the
Transport
> Department, and everything's legal.

I found a solution. Since the cluster I found at a junkyard has more miles
than my car, I can just drive my car until I reach the mileage on the
cluster from the junkyard and then I could install it without any hassles.

--
NoRemorse
"Expect me when you see me."

Focus is in for tailgate respray today (Monday). Mid afternoon I get call
from the dealer telling me that it has rusted from the inside along the
bottom seam, as well as by the coachwork, so they will be replacing the
whole thing.

Seems to be the same issue

- Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -
"per" <nos...@nospam.com> wrote in message news:40718956@news.wineasy.se...
> Is this a new one?
> The seam putty along the inside of the door edge seams does not appear to
> seal and stick to the door as expected.
> Instead I suspect the putty is hygroscopic and draws moisture into the
seams
> instead of protecting them on my german built 2000 Focus Estate. On one
door
> the putty is coming loose along the full length of the door bottom, with
red
> rust under. The rear lid has rust bubbles coming up along the entire
bottom
> edge, on the inside.
> I see no rust on the outside of the car. What do you think?
> /per

Focus is in for tailgate respray today (Monday). Mid afternoon I get call
from the dealer telling me that it has rusted from the inside along the
bottom seam, as well as by the coachwork, so they will be replacing the
whole thing.

Seems to be the same issue

On one
door
> the putty is coming loose along the full length of the door bottom, with
red
> rust under.
