Question for Bad Raptor about suspension noise

Reading through your Focus 2001 Tsb List (Thanks for Your Posting)   I
noticed that my 2001 Focus SE Station Wagon has one of the symptoms as
follows

————————————————————————–

03-20-02 a.. SUSPENSION – CREAKING, CRUNCHING, GRINDING OR RATTLE
NOISE FROM FRONT SUSPENSION AT SLOW SPEEDS OVER BUMPS AND/OR WHILE TURNING
b.. NOISE – CREAKING, CRUNCHING, GRINDING OR RATTLE NOISE FROM FRONT
SUSPENSION AT SLOW SPEEDS OVER BUMPS AND/OR WHILE TURNING
————————————————————————–
Do you Know what the the answer to the above symptoms are.   Mine has a
severe crunch or grind when going over a speed bump a little fast.

Thanks

Stalling

I own a Focus 1.8 TDCI which was bought new in Jan 03.

I have always had a problem with the car stalling frequently, when pulling
away in first gear.

Is this a characteristic of this model?

Any comments would be most appreciated.

Alan.

CVT? What does it stand for?

Hi.

I just what the CTV stands for on some Ford cars?  Is it just Fords
name for their own semi-automatic?  or is it just a gimmick like the
Vvti on some Toyotas to do with engine valves?

Thanks for your help

Unlocking all the door when stoped.

Hello,

When I open the driver door I would like to have all the other open from
outside.

Every time I want to open the passenger’s door from outside I need to go to
the driver side.
It’s maybe because I let the key in the car when parked in my garage.

Please give me the trick how to disable this feature.

Thanks.

Shifting Automatics?

Good Morning,

I’ve seen power curves regarding most of our engines the 2.0L 16V DOHC
Zetec.
It delivers 130hp at 5300 rpm’s and 135 ft/pds of torque at 4500 rpm’s.

However, in an automatic you will NEVER reach the 4500 rpm mark let alone
the 5300.

Most driving ranges are from 1500 – 2500 rpm’s (about 30-60 horsies) not
very impressive.

Since I have an automatic (so my wife could drive it too) I routinely start
with O/D switched off, when I reach my cruising speed and if I expect to be
at this speed for a while I turn the O/D on.

Sometimes (not always) I start in D1 / O/D off, I accelerate up to 4000,
shift to D2, accell again to 3500 then when I have reached my cruising speed
I shift to D, and if I expect to be at this speed for a while I turn the O/D
on.

This really helps out the Stop Light acceleration problem, but is it bad to
shift Automatic Transmissions?

Gas mileage question

I have a new-to-me 2000 Focus ZX3 and I am getting about 430 Klm per tank
before the low fuel light goes on. This is early winter driving with
combined highway and around town. Fill-ups require 36-38 litres of gas. How
does this compare to other experiences? If this is out of whack what should
I be looking at to improve mileage?
