Hi Folks!

When I refuelled my UK 2.0L Ghia Focus the Trip Computer range display
alternated between "326" miles and showing "- – -" while I was
driving.

It seems to have settled down now that some fuel has been used.

Is this a sign of a possible problem or did I somehow manage to
overfill the tank?

First of all – great car – no problems and also great service from garage

My small problem is this:

When running in low gears – like 1′st and the speed is steady  - the engine
is either
accelerating or deaccelerating – and then the car will start to almost
jump – because the
fuel is cut off to the engine – and the soon after the fuel will come back
on.

My question – does anybody know if there is a better engine control program
or so to my car ?
(and if you ask which version I have right now – I don’t know)

Averange fuel economy 12 km pr liter

Assuming that German built cars are better (?) what do I look for in the VIN
to tell me a Focus was built in Germany?

Okay, I’m relatively new to the newsgroup, but I did notice there are
a lot of UK owners about, and a lot of Ghia owners.

It’s probably a bit late to be asking but I’m getting a new 1.6 Ghia
model at the end of the week, and while I know that the service/dealer
experience in my area can be a little dodgy, I hadn’t heard much on
any problems I may expect with the car itself.

I’d noticed a lot of recalls, but from reading it seems these are
mostly related to the American models? I know the European ones have
had a few, but it seems experiences with them are better.

So, anybody able to give me a quick rundown? I’ve driven a Focus
before, but it was a very early model, and definitely not a Ghia.

I am currently including the SVT Focus in the cars I am considering,

for notes, this is an American Ford Focus, not UK/Europe, if that makes a

Just got back from the filming of the Rally Car special and got to
experience the Focus RS from the back seat. My god – 100mph might not seem
fast but it is when you turn nearly 90 degrees at the same time!

Hi All, I know both of these topics have probably been beat to death…BUT:
here are my questions..
-Can I use 185/60R14′s on my Focus for the winter??
-My Focus has a whopping 35,000 Km’s on it, so of course it is time for new
front brakes. What is my best bet? There are some Apex brand on ebay Canada,
has anyone heard of these? also stock or aftermarket rotors???

of Focus RS part numbers.  Specifically the suspension system.  Does anyone
know where I can find these?
