Mini-disc changer with Ford Focus Radio?

Does anyone know of a mini-disc changer that will work with a Ford Focus
radio, not using FM modulation (sending the signal through the radio)? An
adaptor that will work with one of the mini-disc changers and the Focus
radio?

I have seen adapters on the Internet that are supposed to hook up CD
changers of various brands (such as Sony, Kenwood, etc.) with the Ford Focus
radio, but I don’t know if those will work with the MD changers of those
brands also. Anyone know? Anyone tried it?

Thanks,
Mike

slipping out of 3rd

Just got me a new ZX3 (< 1000 miles on it sofar).  It seems to ocassionally have
some trouble with 3rd gear.  It seems like it doesn’t fully engage and slips out
after I let the clutch out…grinding ensues.

Anyone else notice this?

Break-in Period for 2001 ZX3?

Does a 2001 ZX3 need to be broken in gradually? How?  What does the manual
say about that?

Carbon Free Exhaust Pipe

Have you foci owners noticed that the end of the tale pipe on your car is
completely carbon free. I have a mate who has a Vauxhall Calibra which he
bought new, he said his exhaust tail pipe was black inside within a day or
so, I have had mine for 15 months now, it’s still silver. Is it the cat that
works so well, or just a bloody good engine that doesn’t kick out much
carbon.

My advice is to find a dealer really interested in making you happy.
Interested enough to take that door apart, tighten, adjust and lubricate,
and maybe even drive it with the interior door panel removed to try and find
the noisy culprit.  I hope the car is under warranty, otherwise you may have
to pay for some labor to do this.  Remember that any Ford dealer, including
Licoln/Mercury dealers in the US, can service your car under its warranty.
And LM dealers tend to have more upscale service departments, with a
snootier clientele.  Find the LM service writer who gets along with the old
ladies that drive Grand Marquis and Navigator models, and make friends with
him.  I have
a guy out here who will, with your permission, take your car home at night
and spend time finding noises and odd problems.  He is worth his weight in
gold.

Focus 1.8 on LPG

Group,

I’m ordering a Focus Ghia 4 doors 1.8 next month.

Because I get the car from my company, I have no other option to choose a a
diesel or a LPG fuelled car. Petrol is not allowed because of price policy.
My Ford dealer (in Holland) told me that the ‘modern machines’ cannot drive
on LPG anymore, and was already disclaiming guaranty by even considering
building in LPG.

What my consideration is to choose for petrol/LPG is that the petrol version
1.8 has 115 HP against the 1.8 tdi has only 90 HP, while the purchase price
would be the same (petrol + building in LPG installation) vs the tdi. I
would preffer the 25 extra HP’s! Besides, haveing an extra tank is
convenient, I have it in my Ford Escort wagon too without any problem.
Could anyone argue on this? Thanks in advance.
