I’m the proud owner of a Ford Escort’96 Ghia 18i/16v.
I’ve never found a website of GHIA. Does anybody now where I can find
information about Ghia or the Ford Escort Ghia?

Hi,

I have a Focus 1.8 Diesel and it has starting problems. The starting
motor runs normally, but the motor won’t turn on. This problem occurred
the 1st time when I parked the car on a hill with the nose pointing
upwards. After many tries it might turn on.

Newsletters from Ford Focus say there is a problem like this known with
the 1st productions between january 99 and march 99. The fault is a
small leak in a fuel "leiding(NL)/leitung(D)". (don’t know the UK-word,
sorry). When the car is off a longer time it will get some air inside
and then the problem is there.

We even got a new problem extra and that is that all meters (speed, temp
and rpm) give max position (220km/h and max rpm) for a second and then
fall back after inserting the key and turning it on for the orange
Diesel light. After that it is normal again. This first happened after
we spend many minutes trying to start the car with the starting problem.
Guess the "computer" needs a reset?

The focus is delivered to me in March and has 29000 km driven yet.

I just call it baby diseases and I am happy there is a Ford network
where they take care of this.

often when i switch on the airco i get a smell of stale air.
my dealer said: this condense water that remained in the system. I can
avoid it by switching of the airco the last 5-10 minutes before arriving so
there will not remain any condense water in the system.
rather strange reply i think. anybody the same experience and/or solutions?

I have started to have a problem selecting 3rd gear, I have had to start
double de-clutching. Has anybody else had the same problem?

Have been having problems with 1.8 Zetec, radio still being on when engine
is turned off, have to restart the car. Also the fuel meter showing empty
after filling the petrol tank.

Had the alternator recall about two months ago but still getting strange
faults.

Anyone else experiencing similar problems ?
